Notice of the Abolition of the Separate Shipment Handling in the Consumption Tax Exemption System

From April 1st, 2025, the separate shipment handling (Note) in the consumption tax exemption system for foreign tourists visiting Japan (including Japanese people returning home temporarily) will be abolished.

(Note) The arrangement which allows consumption tax-free export of unaccompanied goods by presenting documents certifying entitled export (such as delivery slips with certain required information) to the custom office on departure
