Inauguration of a Japanese Funded Grass-roots  Sanitation Project in Marib 

 

The Embassy of Japan in Sana’a  and the “Cleaning and Improvement  Fund ” of  Marib Governorate  , held an  inauguration ceremony  on 14th  July , 2009  for a Japanese Funded Grass-root project , in the presence of  H.E. Mr. Masakazu Toshikage , the Ambassador  of Japan to Yemen , Mr. Mohammed Zimam  , Deputy Minister of Local Administration  and  Mr. Naji  Ali AL-Zaydi ,  Governor of Marib Governorate   .
  The Government of Japan extended a grant  to fund the project of  “Improving Sanitation Services in Marib ”  with a total amount of YR 17,016,400 used to purchase a vacuum truck with a capacity of 10,000 liters . The grant aims at improving sanitary conditions  and benefiting approximately  17,000 local residents  in Marib Governorate  .
  During the last Japanese fiscal year ( April 2008 –March 2009) , Japan funded 16 Grass-root projects in Yemen, totaling up to more than US$ 1.2 million .

The Government of Japan extends  grants annually , to  fifteen to sixteen  local public entities and  NGOs in the Republic of Yemen under a Japanese scheme called “Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects”  , which aims at supporting small scale community based projects in the areas  of basic human needs , such as primary health care, basic education , rural  water supply  and  environment, in  developing countries.

افتتاح مشروع تحسين الصحة العامة في محافظة مأرب بتمويل من حكومة اليابان

 أقامت سفارة اليابان بصنعاء و صندوق النظافة والتحسين – محافظة مأرب في 14 يوليو 2009 حفل افتتاح مشروع “تحسين الصحة العامة بمحافظة مأرب " بحضور السيد ماساكازو توشيكاجي سفير دولة اليابان في الجمهورية اليمنية  وحضور كل من : الأستاذ / محمد زمام -   وكيل وزارة الإدارة المحلية - والأستاذ / ناجي بن علي الزايدي - محافظ محافظة مأرب .
وكانت حكومة اليابان قد قدمت منحة مالية قدرها 17,016,400 ريال يمني لتمويل المشروع استخدمت لشراء سيارة شفط للمجاري سعة عشرة ألف لتر . وتهدف المنحة إلى تحسين الصحة العامة لعدد من المستفيدين يقدر بحوالي 17,000  نسمة .  
الجدير بالذكر أنه خلال السنة المالية اليابانية الماضية  ( أبريل 2008   - مارس 2009 ) مولت حكومة اليابان 16 مشروعا في اليمن بلغ قيمتها 1.2 مليون دولار أمريكي  . يذكر أن حكومة اليابان تقدم عددا من المنح سنويا للعديد من المنظمات الأهلية في الجمهورية اليمنية في إطار البرنامج الياباني المسمى " المنح المقدمة لمشاريع الأمن البشري الأهلية " والدي يهدف إلى دعم المشاريع الأهلية  صغيرة الحجم التي تلبي الاحتياجات البشرية الأساسية  مثل الرعاية الصحية الأولية والتعليم الأساسي والبيئة و المياه في الدول النامية .
