Japan Provides Emergency Relief Goods for the Governorates affected by the flood disaster in Yemen

  The Government of Japan has decided to provide, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), emergency relief goods to the Republic of Yemen, which has recently sustained serious damage from heavy rain and floods. They are equivalent to about USD 200,000 in total.
The total shipment of the goods consists of 50 large family size tents, 400 sleeping pad, 400 blankets, 20 water purifier and 60 sets of 50-meters plastic sheets.
The Government of Japan has decided to extend this emergency aid from humanitarian point of view, considering the friendly relationship that exists between the two countries and taking account of the scale of the disaster.
Majed Al-Junaid, Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population and Mr. Matahiro Yamaguchi, Counsellor, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Japan in Sana’a, attended at Sana’a International Airport and confirmed these emergency relief goods that arrived at the airport yesterday. After that confirmation, these goods were transported and delivered to the people in Sayoun today.
